Proven Line: Thomas Easterling, born 1750, in North Carolina died in 1815 in Virginia. John Easterling, born 1786 in Tennessee, died in 1870 in Kentucky. Henry Easterling, born 1822 in Virginia, died in 1913 in Kentucky, William Balding Easterling, born in 1854 in Kentucky died in Kentucky in 1924. Henry Willis Easterling Sr, born in 1881 in Kentucky, died in Kentucky in 1957, and Henry W. Easterling Jr, born in 1928 in Kentucky (still alive in Kentucky). Strong circumstantial evidence that American Line began with Henry Easterling, born in England, who came to Maryland in 1634 from England. He had a son, Henry born about 1660, died in 1708 in Maryland, and this Henry had a son Henry, born in 1697 in Maryland and died in in North Carolina about 1730

Received your email today and I am impressed with your website with all the lists of English Easterlings. These lists are the most complete list of English Easterlings I have seen (and that include the genealogists that our association (EFGS)have been working for us I will write more later after I have had a chance to study and compare the lists. Keep up the good work. Henry

Dennis Easterling of Biggleswade told me about this site. We are both descended from Thomas Easterling, brushmaker, of London, b.1803. My last Easterling ancestor was Harriet Ellen Easterling (b.1873), daughter of Frederick Athos Easterling (b.1843.) She married Henry William Carter (b.1869, my great-grandfather) on 3rd June 1894 at Christ Church Greenwich. Henry was 27 and a waterman (father Henry Carter, waterman.) Witnesses were Frederick Easterling and Mary Ann Carter (mother). I think this information is new to your records. You are welcome to use it and quote my name. The site looks exciting, and I'll read the information with care. Best wishes Peter King 2 Jacklands Cottages Tickenham North Somerset BS21 6SG

Les, We, the members of the Easterling Family Genealogical Society, Inc., located in the USA, would like to express our deepest appreciation for the research work you are doing and have done. As you know, we have never been able to identify the first within our bloodline to enter the USA or from whence they came. The earliest migrant Easterling, after years of research, both individually and progessional does have one John Easterling, followed by another John and a Henry, Sr. We, the Society, again, as you know, are currently involved in DNA Testing with a firm known as Family Tree.com. There have been, to date, four (4) DNA Testings done on English Male Easterlings and we are awaiting the results of these test. We also have one Stradling from England who has been sent a testing kit are are waiting on t

My maiden name was Easterling. My father is Cornelius Alfred, his father was Harry Easterling. I am therefore a descendant of William Easterling b.1738. I dont have much info on the family history but I can tell you that Harry Eastering (b.1900) died in November 1974 and his wife Catherine Bresnahan died in April 1975 both in Greenwich, SE London. Eileen M Easterling's date of birth is 28/11/1929 (not March). Cornelius A Easterling (my father) date of birth is 05/03/1931 and he died on 30/12/1993. Lily M R Vidgen (my mother) date of birth is 08/08/1935 and she died on 06/03/1993. I shall find out Dad's other siblings dates of birth if you like. This is such a wonderful site - I have had great fun looking through all the info. Well done!

Greetings to my Family of Easterlings.I really have enjoyed looking at this site and was just surfing the net when I came upon it.I can tell you that my great grandfather was Henry Easterling ( A Baptist Minister) who came here to America with his sons in 1655 and landed in the state of Maryland. They later moved to the Carolina's and then on to Mississippi in the early 1800's. I am interested in any info that one might provide and I would be more than glad to share what I have. I think that our name is one of great strenght and honor. Thanks again and I am proud to be an Easterling!

It seems from the way you have entered details of Marian Bowling Easterling on your site from the 1881 census, that you are unaware of her subsequent marriage William Crates at St Saviour in 1873. If you would like more information on this and their children, please advise.

I came by your website through a Google search. My father, the late Donald G. Easterling, was a board member of the Easterling Genealogical Society in the United States. I am a descendent of the Rev. Henry Easterling branch in the US. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for putting together this site. It is a pleasure to see others working to discover the origins of the Easterlings. Hello, I saw where you wondered if some of the early Esaterlings emigrated to America. I'm sure this being on the internet you have had mnay replies but my curiousity has been sparked. My grandmother's family from Arkansas, USA are Easterlings. It has been brought to my attention that an elderly aunt of mine has a family genelogy dating back to ancestors that moved to America from England. I'm afraid I do not know anywhere close to the time this happened though, I have never had the chance to look through the book. If this is anything you would like to know more about, please reply and I will do what I can to help.

I am sorry I am not part of the Easterlings but I am looking for Quash, my grandmothers maiden name on my mothers side, I just had to comment that only a week ago from 1837 online I found John Thomas Quash living at 31, Vine cottages, Hart Street, Barking on the 1861 census so I think our families from more than 100 years ago might have been neighbours, I have only just started researching so please forgive me for getting over excited at coincidences plus other Quashes lived at Northbury House, North Street, Barking of which I have been emailed a picture. Fascinating. Bye. Jan Robinson
