A domestic servant, Lily Wheaton, of Portland Street, pleaded guilty at the Vonford Petty Sessions, yesterday, to converting to her own use sums of 8s 3d and 1s 4d, the moneys of Chas E Easterling of St John's Road, Polsloe Park, Heavitree, during the past six months.
P.S.Mortimore stated that the woman was employed by Mr Easterling. She was given money to pay bills, but instead of doing so, receipted them and kept the money.
Mrs Eaterling stated that the accused was given numerous other bills to pay, She had lost £7 altogether
The Bench placed the woman under the care of a Probation officer for three years this being her first offence.
