Obituary
The death of a much respected citizen, Mr Thomas Easterling of Exeter public accountant and auditor.
The deceased was for many years chief clerk in the Stamp Office, and on the death of Mr, Mark Kennaway and the merging of the office into the Inland Revenue Department, Mr Easterling commenced business as a public accountant and auditor. His sterling qualities and sound business capabilities soon won for him a good connection, but unfortunately just when his career seemed so full of promise, he had an attack of epilepsy, from which he never completely recovered.
When on a visit to Plymouth last week he had a renewal of the attack, which had a fatal termination on Friday. The deceased, who was only 42 years of age, was a director of the Western Provident Society, and was auditor to several public institutions.
He leaves a widow and several children, for whom much sympathy is felt.
